At 61, Tom Cruise eliminates a stunt double in a dangerous scene

Tom Cruise proved to have nerves of steel and during a recording he jumped off his motorcycle into the abyss

Tom Cruise is one of the biggest movie stars and has reason to have a legion of fans. This is because he gets involved in the production of most of the projects he participates in and throws himself right into the work, literally. The actor has a habit of doing without stunt doubles, even in dangerous situations.

Currently, the actor is recording ‘Mission Impossible: Reckoning – Part 1’ and even at 61 years old, Tom Cruise chose not to use stunt doubles in a high-risk scene. The Hollywood star has shown that he does not lose his character on film sets.

In the scene in question, he has to jump off the cliff on a motorbike. To achieve this, the production team included a 1,200 meter high ramp in a mountainous region of Norway. In fact, despite running the risk, Tom is usually very perfectionist in his scenes. This way, the star performed the jump eight times in search of the best shot.

As regards the recordings in Rome, the actor trained for months to be able to throw himself against a rock face and open a parachute 150 meters from the ground. Furthermore, in these same shots, Tom Cruise filmed a scene driving a car with only one hand, while the other was handcuffed to another character.

It is also worth underlining Tom Cruise is in the spotlight for his courage in facing risky scenes and for his love life. That’s because rumors were circulating about a romance between Tom and Hayley Atwell, his “Mission: Impossible” co-star. However, the actress denied it and said that these rumors are “strange” and “dirty”.
