Country singer files lawsuit after paying child support for daughter who isn’t his

Thiago Servo was arrested in 2016 and allegedly paid more than R$1 million in retirement

Country singer Thiago Servo, 37, is seeking compensation following a court ruling that concluded he is not the father of a child for whom he had paid child support. The information was released via social media on Friday the 10th by the artist’s lawyer, Otávio Gomes Figueiró.

“Many people have come to ask me about the compensation action that Thiago Servo is taking [na Justiça] against the mother of a daughter who is not his. There were seven years of struggles, legal battles, one after another,” Figueiró said in the Instagram Story feature.

According to the lawyer, the action brought by Servo aims to “return what was taken from him”. The singer would have paid more than R$ 1 million in pension. The action seeks material and moral compensation. “Justice takes time, but it never fails. Let’s do Thiago’s rights,” he concluded.

Thiago Servo was arrested in 2016 on charges of problems with pension payments. Figueiró claims that the arrest was “undue”. The lawyer specified that the singer had to face several consecutive arrest warrants for seven years, which would have prevented him from performing.
