The fitness influencer arrived at the headquarters of the Federal Police in Sao Paulo on Monday afternoon to make his first statement
Renato Cariani, fitness influencer, 47 years old, released his first statement to the Federal Police of Sao Paulo on the afternoon of Monday 18th: he is the target of an operation against drug trafficking and the diversion of chemical products used in the production of crack. The chemical company Anidrol, which has the influencer among its partners, has been sued by a man convicted of drug trafficking. In the testimony, the criminal, found with the company’s products, stated that he had received the material from Anidrol itself, as revealed by the Federal Police.
Anidrol and Cariani, as well as 12 other people, were targets of the PF’s Hinsberg operation, carried out last Tuesday, the 12th. On that occasion, search and seizure warrants were executed at addresses in São Paulo, Paraná and Minas Gerais. Among the addresses investigated are the headquarters of Anidrol, in Diadema (SP), and the villa of the influencer, a member of the company since 2008.
According to the PF, Cariani used the names of pharmaceutical companies to disguise a plan to divert chemicals for drug production. A survey carried out by the investigations highlighted an estimate of the transfers for crime, carried out as legal acts on behalf of large industries, revealed this Sunday, 17, the Fantastic.
For only one of the alleged companies, the PF reports the following sales:
- three types of solvents: the 2,050 liters diverted, in total, can produce 1,640 kg of cocaine
- powdered substances that can be used to adulterate the same drug and could produce 15.8 tons of drug
- 4,875 kg of phenacetin, which can generate 12.2 tons of crack
Anidrol had already been targeted by the Revenue Agency in 2015, after alleged transactions with the multinational AstraZeneca. The company said, however, that these chemicals have never entered its facilities and that it does not purchase the substances from domestic suppliers.
In 2016, a person convicted of drug trafficking revealed in testimony that he was looking for products used in the production of drugs at Anidrol.
Cariani presented to the Civil Police, in the case of counterfeit banknotes, an email exchange with an alleged representative of the pharmaceutical company: Augusto Guerra, who signed himself as the company’s national purchasing director. The investigation never identified who Augusto was and the case was closed in 2023.

The alleged director of AstraZeneca was named by the PF as a fictitious name used by Fábio Spinola, owner of an automotive beauty shop in Diadema. According to the investigation, it was Fábio who created the fake email with the nickname Augusto Guerra. Data relating to the email address used in communications with the company were found on his mobile phone.
In May 2023 Spinola was the target of Operation Downfall, which dismantled a drug loading system in the hulls of ships, destined for Europe, with the help of divers. Released in November, he was found with an electronic ankle bracelet and R$100,000 in cash in his home during this week’s operation.
