John condemns Gerald
At the police station, Roxanne shows Martin and Sarah the video surveillance images from the hospital in order to find out who John’s attacker was. Gerald was masked and turned his head frequently, the police were unable to identify him. Martin then asks Roxanne to look at the rest of the CCTV footage to find out if anyone was hiding near John’s room before his attack.
At the hospital, Benjamin is at John’s bedside. The latter wakes up from a coma and urgently asks for news of his son. Relieved to hear that the latter is fine, John doesn’t wait a second to judge his assailant: Gerald Dage. At his request, Benjamin calls the police. Martin goes to the bedside to listen to him and contradicts his words because Gerald has an alibi.
But John is adamant. He says he saw a pair of sticks in front of Flamand’s house the morning he went there to apologize the day he died. Intrigued by the logo, John contacted its manufacturer, who confirmed that it had been purchased by Gerald. However, John’s accusations are not enough evidence in Martin’s eyes.
At the same time, Bastien enters his father’s room and hugs him emotionally. As Martin leaves, Bastien tells his father that he is in great shape. As for John, he ultimately regrets not contacting the police sooner. The Kovacs then thank Benjamin for his invaluable help throughout his ordeal. The latter invites them to his house on Christmas Eve.
At the police station, Martin tells Sara about John’s testimony. There is no longer any doubt for him: Gerald is the Flemish killer. But Martin tells him again that the latter has a solid alibi. Sarah then tries to convince him that Gerald, as a hiking expert, was able to make the round trip between 5am and 7am from his camp to the Flemish house. Martin authorizes him to call for reinforcements to dig this trail.
Manon and Nordin are on the ground: they’ve contacted experts, hikers and guides to find out how walkable the marshy trail is in winter. However, the two colleagues do not have a concrete answer. Manon believes that nothing will be better than real feedback. Nordin then suggests to his friend that they do the trail themselves, in good condition, to make sure.
When night falls, both of them go to the field, equipped with flashlights. They find their way using the map and reach the place where Gerald is camping. Suddenly they notice a red mark on a stone and believe it to be a shortcut. Manon turns on the stopwatch, then walks down the marked path next to Nordin…
Adele and Bart decide to break up
While Bart asks Adele to accompany him to buy Christmas presents for Sarah, Roxanne and Enora, his companion receives an important message. In fact, Adele applied last week to join an artist residency in Florence, and a spot just became available. Therefore, he can go there for 6 months. Adele apologizes for not talking about it sooner. However, Bart encourages her to follow her dreams, even if it means ending their relationship. Both hug each other.
After buying presents, Bart finds Adele. They happily talk about the little things of everyday life that they can’t stand with each other. Adele then asks Bart to accept a favor before leaving for Italy.
Back home, Adele forces her to pose naked so she can keep his souvenir. After finishing his drawing, he decides to go to bed. Alone on the couch, Bart calls her and offers to spend one last night of love together. Adele returns to the living room to take her to the bedroom.
Bruno was released from prison
After breaking out of prison, Bruno is greeted by Soraya, a little disappointed that Nathan didn’t come to pick him up. However, he thanks the lawyer who reminds him of the parole measures.
Meanwhile, Charlie visits Nathan at the Christmas market. She supports him in his decision not to go looking for his father when he gets out of prison. Charlie then insists that Nathan will have to set his own rules from the start so that his father doesn’t get to walk all over him forever.
So Nathan temporarily leaves the food truck to go home. His father is already there. Nathan takes the opportunity to announce his rules: his placement is temporary; He will sleep on the couch; He wakes up at 7 am; And they will manage to get to work themselves. Bruno agrees to all his conditions, hoping to be able to share a moment with his son. But the latter is already returning to the Christmas market. Before she leaves, Bruno promises that he won’t let her down. Nathan replies that he doesn’t expect anything from her.
Afterwards, Bruno meets his friends Sylvain and Alexander for lunch at Spoon. He thanks them for their support and help. However, Bruno understood that his son had to prove himself. But he totally understands why.
At the end of the day, Nathan returns home to find that his father has prepared a surprise aperitif for their reunion. In particular, he bought headphones, a treat that he loved as a child. However, this attention brings back bad memories for Nathan, as his father offered him a drink every morning. Uncomfortable, Bruno prepares to put everything away while Nathan goes to shower.
