George Clooney said this Matthew Perry I wasn’t happy while I was working Friends. The actor recalled his friendship with Chandler’s interpreter in an interview with Deadline.

Matthew died in October this year. The cause of death was revealed last week: “acute effects of ketamine”.
In the interview released this Tuesday, George revealed that he met Matthew before the success of the series: “He was a great guy, absurdly funny. Before he was even cast in Friends, he told me that he really wanted a role in a sitcom film. He said it would make him the happiest man on the planet.”
However, this is not what Clooney witnessed. “He probably had one of the best results ever. He wasn’t happy. It didn’t bring him joy, happiness or peace,” she said. George explained that, at the time, he was recording in the studio with his friend and noticed that he was not well.
“Seeing what happened was difficult because we didn’t know what was happening to him. We just knew that he wasn’t happy and I had no idea what he was doing (…) And that also tells you that success and money and all these things don’t they automatically lead to happiness. You have to be happy with yourself and with your life,” he concluded.
