Gary Sinise, actor remembered for his role as Lt. Dan in the award-winning film “Forrest Gump” (1994), and his wife Moira Harris, mourn the death of their son Mc Sinise, who died of chordoma, a rare cancer.
The 33-year-old died on January 5, 2024 at 3:25 p.m. and was buried on the 23rd of the same month. However, it wasn’t until February 27 that the actor made the announcement through a statement in which he shared the details of his son’s death and battle with the disease.
Mac was diagnosed in 2018, but two months earlier his mother was diagnosed with breast cancer, which made it difficult to cope. Moira Harris has managed to beat the disease and is in remission.
“Thank you Mac. You did it. “Resurrection & Revival” and you will live forever in our hearts. We were blessed to have you in our lives as a son, brother and friend and you will be missed and loved for all eternity ( ..) By sharing our story we hope to shed some light on what has been a difficult time for us, Mac was truly a light to all of us,” the message reads.
What did Gary Sinese’s son die of?

According to the United States National Cancer Institute website, chordoma is “a slow-growing cancer found in the tissue inside the spine. It most often occurs near the coccyx (called the sacrum) or “at the junction of the spine with the skull (called a clivus tumor).
