The businessman said he took legal action to “protect his son’s rights”; the comments came after the baby’s “of the month” photo
The businessman Thor the Baptist stated that the lawsuit he filed on Tuesday the 27th was not necessarily motivated by the attacks he received due to his physical appearance. In a new note published on his Instagram profile this Friday 1, Thor said he had taken legal action to “protect the rights of his son”.
“The images of me with less hair had been circulating on the Internet for some time. Behind some of the actions carried out there were therefore other intentions, which will not go unpunished”, wrote the entrepreneur. According to him, photos from the first “birthday of the month” of the baby, who was also named Thor, would be used to create engagement on social media.
“These measures are in response to the inappropriate use of your photo and image, which goes against what is established in the Statute on Children and Adolescents (ECA),” reads an excerpt from the statement. The entrepreneur cited articles 17 and 18 of the statute, which establish respectively the “protection of the image” of the child and the “protection of dignity and respect”.
“I am determined to take all appropriate measures so that my son’s rights are respected and his image and childhood are protected from any abuse,” he concluded.
Understand the case
The actress Luma de Oliveira, the businessman’s mother, spoke out after the wave of attacks her son received because of his physical appearance. It is the fruit of the artist’s relationship with the businessman Eike Batista. On Tuesday, Thor also reported that he had sued the court.
The negative comments arrived due to a photo shoot taken after the birth and “months” of the entrepreneur’s son. “Yesterday my firstborn was harshly criticized in the media for not having the standard look at some clinics that leaves faces properly puffed up as is considered beautiful today,” Luma began in an Instagram story.

The actress criticized the aesthetic procedures, saying that the result leaves people “with a single expression”. “Just a reminder that there are still people like me who prefer markings around the eyes, but allowing expression of their eyes,” she wrote.
She further described her preference for “real beauty”. “[Pessoas] who are satisfied with red lipstick and don’t want to have their teeth adjusted to the millimeter like the keyboards of a piano. With the eyebrows that could be improved, in fact, as could the whole face, but this would distance me a lot from myself, “he said.
Thor posted a repudiatory statement on Tuesday, saying it intends to sue the perpetrators of the attacks. “It is important to emphasize that the Internet is not a lawless place. Freedom of expression is a right, but it cannot serve as a shield for defamatory, abusive or illegal actions. Cancel culture, which aims to destroy reputations, is a poison for our society and our mission is to face this wave of hostility with the seriousness that the situation requires,” read an excerpt from the statement.

Thor Batista is 32 years old and has been married to model Lunara Campos for ten years. He is the son of one of the (currently ex) couples of the 90s: businessman Eike Batista and actress Luma de Oliveira.
In 1999 she sparked controversy when she paraded in Sapucaí wearing a diamond-encrusted collar bearing her husband’s name, Eike. The couple separated in 2004, but the accessory continues to inspire other celebrities, from Sabrina Sato to Laura Neiva.
