After a tough battle against cervical cancer, Jessica Pettway’s sister confirmed that the content creator died on March 13.
Rainey Pettway shared, on her Instagram profile, her sadness at the news, after the death of her sister happened two days before her birthday.
“Today is my birthday and all I wish is that God brings you back to this earth. “I lost my beautiful big sister 2 days ago and my heart has never felt such pain,” she wrote.
Reyni stressed that she will always remember Jessica Pettway as an amazing and strong woman. In her emotional farewell, she made a plea: “Help me be a better mom.”
Who was Jessica Pettway, who left behind two young daughters?
In November 2013, Jessica Pettway debuted as an influencer thanks to her YouTube channel, where she amassed more than 225,000 subscribers by the time of her death.
In July 2023, the influencer shared the news that she had been diagnosed with stage three cervical cancer.
“I was diagnosed with stage three cancer. “I don’t even know where to start, but I want to share why I’ve been away for so long and in hopes that at least one person will find inspiration in my story,” Pettway said when he announced the news.
Jessica Pettway revealed how she got the news after having a biopsy.
“On February 8, 2023, he did a biopsy, when I woke up from the anesthesia, the doctor said, ‘Yes, you have stage three cervical cancer,'” she said.
The content creator was a mother of two daughters: Kailee, 10, and Zoi Lee, just 3. After the diagnosis, her daughters were placed in the care of their father, to whom Jessica had been married for 12 years.
Through her official Instagram account, Jessica Pettway shared photos of her family and revealed how her daughters coped with the difficulties of having a sick mother, which caused her a lot of pain until her death.
“The girls are too young to understand, but they noticed the changes. They often asked “When will mom come home?”. or “Why does mom keep going to the ambulance?” The moment I was taken to the ambulance and I said goodbye to my children, only to see them crying and asking their mother to stay home, it broke my heart,” he said in August 2023.
