Alejandra Rodriguez wins Miss Universe Buenos Aires and advances to the national competition; the competition no longer has age limits




Argentina Alessandro Rodriguez, 60 years old, she was the winner of Miss Universe in the province of Buenos Aires on Sunday 21st. The model will participate in the national competition and, if she wins, she could be the country’s representative in the international Miss Universe competition.

Alejandra is a lawyer and journalist, residing in the city of La Plata. She was a newcomer to the regional competition, the first time the competition was held without age restrictions.

“I had never signed up. Now this opportunity presented itself and it seemed like a challenge, a very interesting proposal,” he told the TN channel last Tuesday. “Beauty is not just physical. It has to do with the attitude towards life, which goes beyond aesthetics. Therefore, I think the competition was born to break these stereotypes, and this is what is giving it so much visibility.”

In the next stage, which will take place on May 25 in Buenos Aires, Rodriguez will compete with 27 other Argentine finalists. The winner will compete in the international edition of Miss Universe.

“It was a very thoughtful decision,” he said. “But thanks to the director of Miss Universe Buenos Aires, I decided to sign up at the age of 60.”
