The influencer Maya Mazzafera gave more details about her gender transition this Friday, the 31st. Maya said she began the process last year and revealed what motivated her to speak out on the topic. The influencer posted her chosen name and first photos after the transition earlier this month.

“For the first time I understand what it means to be happy,” Maya wrote in a letter shared with the magazine Rowing. He quoted a saying that says “life begins at 40” to say: “Mine began at 43”.

The influencer said she wanted to “look in the mirror, get out of the house and live,” but mentioned the challenges she faced after the trial. During her participation in the Cannes Film Festival, she said that she suffered from dysphoria (you understand what we are talking about here) and that she spent a day there in her room for fear of judgement.

“People want to see if I’m really feminine, what has changed the most about me and what my body is like. My friends are curious too and I know it’s not a bad thing, but I’m exhausted,” she said.

Maya later commented that she “spent 40 years in the worst prison imaginable.” “I was 24/7 inside a body and a gender that wasn’t mine. I was born with a female soul, I was a woman trapped in a male body. I had my happy moments, but I wasn’t a happy person,” He said.

The influencer mentioned the time she was criticized for “not wearing clothes that society considers masculine.” “Many people say that I have also changed my style, that before I was controversial and now I dress well. But this does not exist. What happened is that I wore women’s clothes and society finds it controversial for a male body to wear women’s clothes,” he has declared.

According to Maya, the transition began in October. The influencer said he spent three months “without being able to get out of bed” and that he decided to continue the trial “away from the media”. She, however, decided to speak out on the topic after “some very biased articles” and conversations with her doctors and her analyst.

“I want to make one thing clear to you: how happy I am and how I found myself in the female gender,” she said. “I don’t know why God made me this way, but it had to be this way and today I am the happiest person in the world. I am a very proud trans woman,” she added, saying she wanted to continue working in entertainment.
