“Being deceived is the worst feeling, right? A stab. A moment that was a dream turned into deception and lies to use my image and cause in diversity month. Today I just cried because of the lack of respect towards me , Maya, and towards me, a trans woman,” Maya said last Friday (31), making the matter somewhat mysterious.

This Saturday (01), Maya clearly addressed the topic in her Instagram stories. The model, rather uncomfortably, in her editorials revealed a possible difference in the treatment of cis and trans women and explained her reasoning:

“What to expect from this magazine that has already been accused of racism, transphobia… I felt humiliated by the magazine and felt transphobic. They wouldn’t do that to a standard cis girl. When they invited Bruna Marquezine, Marina Ruy Barbosa or Sabrina Sato (all beautiful and whom I adore) for the cover, they didn’t make that kind of joke,” Maya said.
