Don Omar revealed that he was diagnosed with cancer at the age of 46 via a short message on his Instagram account.
The so-called “King of Reggaeton” posted this Monday, June 17, a photo in which you can see his hand clenched into a fist and on his wrist he wears the bracelet from a hospital in Orlando, Florida.
“Today yes, but tomorrow I won’t have cancer,” she wrote to make it known that she is currently battling the disease.
“Good intentions are welcome,” he added, apparently addressing his fans. “See you soon. #fuckingcancer.”
So far, the creator of hits such as “Danza kuduro” and “Salió el sol” has not given further details about his condition.
Don Omar appeared before announcing his illness
A day before announcing the health complication he is going through, the actor also uploaded a video to his feed in which he appears in front of the camera.
The clip is a compilation of moments they experienced during an audition they gave to dancers who will join their “team” for their next tour in the United States.
“All those young people out there are dreaming and it’s really nice that there are people who, even though they don’t know you, want to dream with you,” Don Omar says.
“Not just to be on my dance team, I think for everything in life you need that desire, to trust yourself and to prepare,” she added.
The Puerto Rican was excited about the new members of his staff for the “tour”, which will apparently start in August.
“It’s the start of a lot of work ahead of us next summer,” he assured everyone who came through the casting.
Don Omar receives support from his friends and followers
Shortly after Don Omar reported his condition, he started receiving support from his friends and fans.
āDear William, Puerto Rican warrior, I know how you feel. “You, like me, have fought many battles in your life and come out victorious,” actor Osvaldo RĆos told him.
āThis will not be the exception and in God’s name and by faith I know you will fight until you are completely healthy in his name. Receive my brotherly embrace and infinite blessings for you today and always,ā he declared.
Personalities such as Olga Tañón, La Materialista, Paco López, Héctor Acosta, Rey Pirin and Manny Montes have also sent him their wishes.
