The actress speaks out after a wave of rumors about a hypothetical invitation to return to Globo in the long-awaited remake of ‘Vale Tudo’
On Tuesday night (2), Gloria Pires posted a video on Instagram and TikTok about her much-talked-about participation in the remake of ‘Vale Tudo’, which will air in 2025, to celebrate Globo’s 60th anniversary, and the rumor that she had asked for R$ 2 million to star in the soap opera.
“I’m here right away, guys, to clarify a situation that has been going on for some time and is progressing,” he said seriously.
“Regarding the alleged invitation for me to play Odete Roitman in the new version of Vale Tudo. That invitation never happened. I was never contacted and much less, no amount was mentioned.
The actress insisted that “this news is not real”. According to him, there has been no contact from Globo’s television fiction department so far. She worked at the station for 54 years. She left the channel at the beginning of the year, after the end of the recordings of “Terra & Paixão”, when she played the antagonist Irene. The initiative to not renew the contract came from the artist.
In the original version of ‘Vale Tudo’, in 1988, Gloria Pires played the villain Maria de Fátima, tormentor of her mother, Raquel, played by Regina Duarte. Odete Roitman, considered the mother of all villains in television fiction, was played by Beatriz Segall, who died at the age of 92 in 2018.
