Rocker Ann Wilson Announces Treatment, Hiatus From Performing at Age 74
Ann Wilson, lead singer of the band Heart, was diagnosed with cancer. The band’s concert schedule is on hold and previously scheduled performances will be rescheduled. In an emotional social media post published this Friday (12/08), the 74-year-old singer informed her followers of the situation. “I fully intend to return to the stage in 2025,” she said.
Surgery and chemotherapy
Ann said she recently underwent surgery due to her diagnosis. “The surgery was a success and I feel great, but my doctors are now recommending that I undergo preventative chemotherapy and I have decided to do that. My doctors are telling me to take the rest of the year off from acting to fully recover,” she explained.
Future projects
The artist regretted the suspension of the performances. “For the ticket buyers, I really wish we could stage these shows. Please know that I plan to return to the stage in 2025. My team is working out those details and we will let you know the plans as soon as possible,” he said.
He also thanked his fans for their support and assured that it was just a break. “This is just a break. I still have a lot to sing about.”
