A Cayman Islands hotel brochure shows Hammer as their concierge. Is this the actor’s new job?
A photo from a hotel brochure in the Cayman Islands has taken Twitter by storm. And not because it was a bargain for these holidays, but because the flyer showed the actor Armie Hammer as the hotel concierge, ready to lend you a hand with discount coupons and entertainment recommendations.
Hammer, whom we last saw in ‘Death on the Nile’, has not worked in the cinema since in early 2021 some screenshots appeared on social networks showing some messages from the actor in which he displayed some alleged cannibal fetishes. At first it was taken as a joke, but accusations of abuse by some women arose, and there was even a rape complaint that was finally dismissed.
The actor’s legal team has categorically denied these accusations, but Armie Hammer has been sidelined from projects like ‘Shotgun Wedding’ with Jennifer Lopez, the thriller ‘Billion Dollar Spy’, the Broadway play ‘The Minutes’ and the Paramount+ series about the filming of ‘The Godfather’ ‘The Offer’, in which he was replaced by Miles Teller.
So it didn’t seem “so” far-fetched to think that Hammer had found a new job as a hotel concierge, offering discount coupons for restaurants, excursions, and swim-with-turtles-and-dolphins experiences. But Variety has been able to confirm that it was all a joke. No, Armie Hammer is not the concierge at Morritt’s hotel..
Hammer, who grew up regularly visiting the Cayman Islands and has been living there during the pandemic, is a hotel guest but not an employee.. He is friends with some of the hotel staff and plays golf with them, said an employee contacted by Variety by phone, explaining that some of the staff who play golf with Hammer made the flyer and sent it to some rooms at the resort. As a joke, to try to see what kind of care you might get. And, seen what was seen, the joke was a success.
The brochure, with a graphic design worthy of Paint, featured a photo of Hammer and read: “I am your personal concierge and I am here to help you have the best vacation.“. It also offered different discount coupons for experiences such as “swim with wild turtles“, tips on where to snorkel and dive, and “reasonable prices for fishing trips.”
hammer is trying unnoticed a season in the Caymans after recovering in a treatment center. But for now the plan has gone awry.
