Favorite children’s TV presenter has died: this was her unexpected departure

Yola Polastri, Peru’s most famous and beloved children’s presenter, died at the age of 74 on Sunday, July 7.

The news of her death was announced through the official account of the so-called “Tele Girl” moments later.

“We invite you to join us in this moment of so much pain,” the Polastri Giribaldi family said in a text accompanying the artist’s photo.

In the middle of last May, the also called “Queen of Children” suffered a “brain attack” for which she was hospitalized and later managed to move on.

What did Yola Polastri die of?

After Yola Polastri’s death, her brother Augusto confessed that he did not expect this to happen, as he was recovering from the effects of a cerebrovascular accident (CVA).

“She was resting, she was calm, she was already doing her treatments that were done for her rehabilitation,” she said in an interview with “TVPerú Noticias.”

He also revealed what the cause of death was: “She was already eating something and we saw that she was going to leave, but the heart attack beat us, because she also had her problems, in her heart.”

He recalled that the interpreter of “El telefonito” managed to leave the clinic to return to her home, where she eventually died unexpectedly.

“She left the hospital, went to the room there to rest, to calm down and from there we took her home. In the family we were fine, everything was calm, thinking that he will get up, but he left like that” he commented.

For her part, Danitza Pavlich, Yola’s niece and who has been caring for her since her health began to decline, shared details of her final moments.

“He passed away peacefully, it was a heart attack, he passed peacefully with a great sigh,” he told the microphone of the news program “24 Hours”.

“The stroke he had was very serious and it left a lot of consequences and so this happened now,” she explained, visibly upset.

Yola Polastri was in intensive care

On May 16 of this year, El Comercio reported that Yola Polastri was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit of a sanatorium.

“His condition is critical, he is in the ICU. He’s had a small stroke, a stroke. He is currently recovering, sedated and sleeping,” explained his brother Augusto.

“His pressure has gone up a bit, we have to wait five days for it to come down and we hope for good results,” he added.

On June 20, via social networks, it was announced that the star was finally discharged.

“He is still in poor health. The family thanks you for your outpouring of love during this difficult time and we ask that you continue to pray,” they said.
