The presenter Ana Hickman43 years old, she became emotional on Wednesday 17th recalling the episodes of domestic violence suffered by her ex-husband, Alexander Correato whom she was married for 25 years. In a lecture at the Ressoar Program, she showed for the first time images in which she appears with bruises.

“I tried to get out of this toxic relationship, this situation that wasn’t good for me and that was also putting my son in danger. But then the person [Alexandre] He said to me, ‘You’re going to destroy your family, you’re going to destroy your child, do you want this for your life?’ I thought that what happened to my mother would never happen to me. As a child, I had only one certainty, that I wanted to be self-sufficient, that I wanted to work, that I wanted to help my mother, my brothers and that it would work. I started a relationship, I got married very young and a lot of things happened,” she began in a speech to about 300 women.
At one point she started showing some pictures of her with bruises. For each one, Ana Hickmann explained in detail what happened. During the reports she did not hold back her emotion.
“It was November 11, 2023, that was the day I asked for help. I never brought the images to anyone, in fact, this week it turned eight months and I wanted to do it because I wanted to show you that there is no address, no bank account, no last name, no skin color, there is nothing that differentiates us. We are the same and we go through the same things,” she said in tears. “You can only change the name of the attacker, but the rest remains the same. And everything happens the same way. I learned this in these months by sharing and listening to the stories of other women.”

“If I’m happy, my son will be happy. If I follow him, I’ll be a better mother, I’ll be able to be an example. And believe me, I’ve been judged for this: ‘She’s not suffering.’ . . She’s not crying. Oh, it’s okay.’ There will be judgments, people will point fingers, but in the end only we know what happens.”
When she reported Alexandre Correa’s assault, the presenter did not leave her post at Record TV. For her, working was a way to get ahead, but it was a challenge.
“People were like, ‘Don’t let your bruise show. Hide it.’ I had a job that week that I couldn’t hide, so we tried to wear makeup, but the bruise was so big there wasn’t enough makeup to hide it, and I’ve kept that stuff to this day.”
