Pitt says the sale of the shares contradicts a verbal agreement between the two. Jolie’s defense argues that she did not want her ex-husband to directly purchase the shares because the actress did not want to sign the confidentiality agreement as part of the deal he proposed, says the People.

Paul Murphy further alleges that Pitt “attempted to punish and control Angelina by seeking a broad confidentiality agreement to cover up his personal misconduct and [seu comportamento] violent”.

The actress also asked Pitt to hand over third-party communications from the 2016 flight, in which she claims he assaulted her. The defendants’ lawyers called the request “oppressive,” according to the American magazine.

In an FBI report obtained by CNN in 2022, Jolie accuses Pitt of physically assaulting her when he allegedly grabbed her by the head and “shook” her. The actress’ defense added that he also “choked one of the children and hit another in the face.” The claim was again publicized after one of the couple’s daughters, Shiloh, asked for Pitt’s last name to be removed from her name.
