The woman went to court after being damaged by the flood and filed a lawsuit against the company in which Gusttavo Lima is a partner
According to the editorialist Fabia OliveiraFrom MetropolisA woman took legal action on July 10 against Gusttavo Lima and four other companies in a “compulsory action for moral and material damages”.
The reason? The girl in question wants Bem Protege insurance, which according to her has the singer as a partner, to reimburse the full value of the losses suffered. The flood occurred in Canoas, Rio Grande do Sul.
In the lawsuit, the woman stated that in the months of April and May, the city of Canoas suffered from a high amount of rain and river flooding, resulting in flooding in the Niterói neighborhood. Her car, which was in the garage, was hit, with no possibility of removing it from the scene in time.
Since she was insured and her insurance provided coverage for natural events, the author made the first call to the insurance company on 11/05/2024. However, the claims office operated from Monday to Friday. She then contacted them again on 05/13/2024, when she was informed that she would receive a list of documents needed to open the claim, but this list, according to her, was never sent.
Also according to the documents, on 05/14/2024, the woman called back. All documents were sent on 05/14/2024, but the insurance company did not open the claim, claiming that photos and videos of the car were missing.
On 05/27/2024 the author sent photos of the vehicle and the accident was finally discovered. But, faced with a new obstacle, they informed that an investigation would be conducted. A day before the investigation was closed, the insurance company called the woman, informing her that they would not cover the damage to the vehicle.
The company offers a “solution”
The company also offered a percentage of the vehicle’s value, according to it, “demonstrate the company’s bad faith by forcing an agreement with people who are suffering from the loss of everything.”
Because of all this mess, the woman had to go to court. In the lawsuit she is asking for R$ 31,140 for damages to the car, as well as R$ 20,000 for moral damages. The total amount of the case is R$ 51,140. The case is before the 2nd Civil Court of the District of Canoas, Rio Grande do Sul.
Gusttavo Lima, despite being a partner in Bem Protege, has not yet been named in the action.
