Full House star Candace Cameron Bure broke down in tears on Tuesday's episode of her podcast while discussing constant online criticism over her voice.

The 50-year-old actress had to grab a box of tissues as she recalled some of the hurtful comments she has read about herself on the internet.
"I get a lot of criticism for my voice," Bure told listeners on The Candace Cameron Bure Podcast. "People always comment [on] how annoying my voice is."

She quoted one specific message she came across online, where a viewer admitted having to "turn off [their] TV because [Bure's] voice is so annoying."
While wiping away tears, the former child star noted that the negative comments about her speaking voice are both "constant" and "a lot" for her to handle.
Finding redemption through Bible readings
Despite the online hate, Bure explained that reading Bible verses aloud on social media platforms has helped her work through the insecurity.
"I've never had more people say to me, 'I love to hear you read the Bible. You make the Bible come alive for me. Will you keep reading the Bible please? I love the sound of your voice,'" she said when describing the positive feedback she receives.

"It feels so redemptive that, like, God's using the very thing that glorifies him and the thing that's brought me pain and then be rewarded for it," Bure said.

She clarified her statement by adding: "Not in a personal way rewarded. But people like the sound of my voice when I read the Bible. So I'm like, 'This is amazing.'"
Bure explained that her tears on the episode stemmed from suddenly feeling self-conscious while recording, noting that listeners tune in specifically to hear her speak.

"But I have a podcast and we're sharing Jesus," she added. "And that's what my heart is. My heart is just to bring people one step closer to Jesus."
Representatives for Bure did not immediately respond to a request for comment from the Daily Mail.
Previous backlash over social media posts
The candid podcast discussion comes nearly a year after Bure addressed other forms of online criticism that she has faced over the course of her career.
Last September, internet trolls targeted Bure after she shared a photograph of herself posing in a swimsuit on her Instagram page.

She initially deleted the bikini post after receiving body-shaming comments, but later returned to Instagram to share a photo of herself in a crop top that revealed her midriff.

Addressing the trolls at the time, Bure said she was "soaking up the end of the summer" and "having fun."
She explained her decision to remove the original post, noting that "the comments became flooded with people discussing my body."
"It wasn't worth it. I took it down," Bure said regarding the bikini image.
Longstanding battles with eating disorders
Bure has previously spoken openly about her lifelong battles with eating disorders, including bulimia, as well as body dysmorphia.
The actress detailed her struggles with body image in her 2010 memoir, Reshaping It All: Motivation for Physical and Spiritual Fitness.
On her podcast, she previously discussed developing an "unhealthy relationship with food" during her childhood years.
In April 2025, Bure shared that she holds "very vivid memories of being in 5th grade and 6th grade" and feeling "so bad" about her physical appearance.
She revealed that she had attempted "every single diet plan" starting from age 12, adding that finding solace in her faith ultimately helped her navigate her history of eating disorders.
