Presenter Otaviano Costa underwent surgery due to an aneurysm
This Monday (22), the presenter Otaviano Costa revealed to his followers his health status. This is because Flávia Alessandra’s husband had to undergo surgery when he discovered an aneurysm.
Otaviano Costa was admitted to the Sírio Libanês Hospital in São Paulo on the 8th to undergo a seven-hour surgery. Now that the host is well, he explained in detail how he discovered the disease. “Hello everyone. About 30 days ago my life turned upside down,” Costa began.
“I was feeling great, I had no symptoms, but I had a little pain that was bothering me here. […] Since I have not been able to go to Sao Paulo for my routine check-up for about two years, […] I decided to consult a doctor I didn’t know, cardiologist Antônio Masseto, on June 6,” he continued.
Thus, Otaviano Costa discovered, through an echocardiogram, that he has an aneurysm of the ascending thoracic aorta at a very dangerous level. In this way, he could have a rupture of the aorta without any symptoms.
Together with the presenter’s cardiologist, Dr. Roberto Kalil, and the entire medical team, Otaviano decided to undergo surgery. In the video, Flávia Alessandra’s husband says that the surgery went well and shows the size of the dressing on his chest.
