Sunday 18th, the family of Silvio Santo sent a letter thanking the press, politicians, celebrities and the public for the tributes paid to the presenter. In the texts the heiresses declared that they felt embraced.

Death of Silvio Santos

The presenter Silvio Santos, 93, died in the early hours of Saturday. He had been hospitalized since the 1st of this month at the Hospital Israelita Albert Einstein, in the neighborhood of Morumbi, in the south of São Paulo, for treatment of a case of H1N1, a subtype of influenza A. The information was released by SBT on social media.

“Today the sky rejoices with the arrival of our beloved Silvio Santos. He lived 93 years to bring happiness and love to all Brazilians. The family is very grateful to Brazil for more than 65 years of living together with great joy,” said the SBT in a post on X (formerly Twitter).

The presenter’s cause of death is due to bronchopneumonia after H1N1 infectionreported a published medical bulletin. “The Albert Einstein Israeli Hospital regretfully confirms the death of Mr. Abravanel, Silvio Santos, aged 93, which occurred today, August 17, 2024, at 4:50 a.m., due to bronchopneumonia resulting from influenza infection (H1N1). The Albert Einstein Israeli Hospital stands in solidarity with the family and all those who are grieving the loss.”
