The village house was used by Silvio Santos in decisive moments and is in his legacy

Few privileged people have had the experience of being called to own a property in a privileged area of São Paulo

Those who rush down Avenida Quarto Centenário, by car, bus or motorbike, might not even notice a discreet village of houses between gates 6 and 7 of Ibirapuera Park, in São Paulo.

There is Rua Leiria, an important address in the history of Silvio Santos, SBT and Brazilian television. Long before the inauguration of the CDT (Anhanguera Television Center), in 1996, the place was already used as an office by the presenter and businessman.

The spacious house was purchased when the communicator was still married to his first wife, Maria Aparecida, who died of cancer at the age of 39 in 1977. His first two daughters, Cíntia and Silvia, grew up playing on that private road, now protected by a gate.

Here Silvio held his meetings with artists, politicians and executives of the companies of his group. The address also served as headquarters for some CNPJ on behalf of the members of the Abravanel family.

Even after the SBT moved from the theatre in Vila Guilherme, in the north zone, to the gigantic complex on the banks of the Rodovia Anhanguera, the presenter continued to work in Leiria, much closer to his villa in Morumbi.

In a podcast, Ratinho recalled that it was in that house that he signed his first contract with SBT, in 1998. Included in the inheritance, the property will probably be sold. It deserved to be kept intact for the value of its memorabilia in the history of Silvio Santos.
