Davi Brito wants to donate basic food baskets in the neighborhoods of Salvador
The former BBB David Brito has used social media to publicize a new social project, entitled “Plate on the popular table”with the aim of providing food to needy families in the outskirts of Salvador, Bahia. In an announcement on Instagram stories, Davi explained that the project will be funded by donations from his followers.
“The name of the project is ‘Prato na Mesa do Povo’ and the biggest sponsor of this project will be you. Sometimes R$1 will make a difference on the table of a family that needs to eat and sometimes has nothing to eat”, said the former BBB, who had also taken a previous action, giving away photos worth R$50 to some followers.
The initiative, however, soon aroused controversy. Many Internet users criticized the proposal, questioning the feasibility and transparency of the project. In response, Davi Brito wrote a second story detailing how the money raised will be used.
“The dollar you donate will be transformed into food baskets, prizes for people, television, refrigerators, for those who really need it and sometimes have nothing to eat at home. The project will be completely transparent and our goal is to donate 5,000 basic food baskets in each neighborhood here on the outskirts of Salvador”he explained.
