Cid Moreira was on the bench of Jornal Nacional for 26 years. He was admitted to Santa Teresa Hospital to be treated for pneumonia, and died due to multiple organ failure.
The journalist was married four times, once to Olga Verônica Radenzev Simões, between 1970 and 1972. He then married Ulhiana Naumtchyk Moreira, from 1993 to 2000, with whom he had a biological son, Rodrigo Moreira, and adopted Roger Moreira , his nephew.
Cid was also the father of Jaciara, who passed away in 2020, following his first marriage to Nelcy Moreira. And he had a nephew, Alexandre Moreira – Jaciara’s son – who died after being involved in a car accident in 1996, aged 21.
Cid’s heartthrob side was the subject of a book
Fátima Sampaio and Cid Moreira met in 2000, on November 3. The two were together ever since, as he said in his bio Good nightpublished in 2010. In a chapter of the work, Fátima talks about Cid’s heartthrob side, which aroused curiosity among fans and the press.
“All my breakups and new relationships have been published in magazines. Everything I did was subject to comments. The more I wanted to be discreet, the worse it was,” the communicator reported in the work.
The love story between Cid and Fátima was the subject of a video made by the couple on YouTube. The meeting took place in Fortaleza, when the magazine Caras, where she worked, asked Fátima to cover a tennis tournament. Cid was playing and his performance would be the order of the day. It was after their first conversation that the two ended up falling in love, dating and getting married.
At the time Fátima was 35 years old and Cid was 72. “I was playing, I had already won the first set and I was finding myself (laughs). When I was coming to the second set and stopped to turn to the side, I saw his big hair. Then I looked and said, ‘Hmm, she’s cute,’” Cid said in 2020 on video.
The two met during the four days of the event, when a perfect atmosphere began to be created. “It was very impactful, it was beautiful. We entered into a harmony of another dimension,” said the journalist.
After the first meeting, Cid invited his beloved, who lived in Fortaleza, to go to Rio de Janeiro to create a website. And so their story began, like a real “meeting of souls”, according to her.
The marriage occurred in 2006, and the two worked and traveled together many times, remaining together until Cid’s death this Thursday.
