Shakira and Gerard Piqué have spoken again about their controversial split more than two years since it took place amid rumors of infidelity on his part with now-girlfriend Clara Chía Marti.
First, the former soccer player assured when he appeared on the program “CNN Café” on October 18, although without mentioning the singer, that he is “calm” in the face of everything that is reported about his love life.
“In the end, the truth, or what happens, is often not told as it is. “I can’t control that,” he said.
And, after emphasizing that he is surrounded by family and friends who know what he is like and what he is doing, he said: “I am very happy, I am having a great time and I feel privileged.”
Shakira warns she’ll bring up her split with Pique again
For her part, in a much more open way, but without mentioning Gerard Pique, Shakira spoke about how she felt after the end of her long-term relationship with him.
“It wasn’t easy to acknowledge all the vulnerability I felt at the time I wrote this album and then reveal it,” she said, referring to “Women Don’t Cry Anymore.”
In said material from the album, which includes “hits” such as “Bzrp Music Sessions, Vol 53”, “Congratulations” and “Monotonía”, she depicts what she experienced next to the athlete and his thunder.
“For many months after my breakup I was silent, trying to start grieving, but I couldn’t really start grieving until I started writing music,” he admitted.
“It was my way of healing. And it continues to be. Grief is a non-linear process. “It’s full of peaks and valleys,” he added.
She continued her life in Miami, with her children, Milan and Sasha, who she had with the footballer, while he is with Clara Chia, but she still has things to say.
“The love of a couple disappointed me. It affected my temperament. It is irreparable, for now at least, that he has lost his trust in the other,” he explained.
“The healing process is long. He will bring me some albums! It’s a lie that with ‘Última’ I would get everything off my chest. There’s always more to dig up,” he warned.
Shakira rules out having a partner again?
After her split with Pique, Shakira remained officially single, despite rumors that she was dating Lucien Laviscount or Lewis Hamilton.
“I can’t say I’m completely skeptical. [del amor…]. It exists, but for a select group of people,” he told the well-known medium.
“It’s a VIP where not everyone gets in. Few enter and are lucky enough to be inside. It wasn’t my turn, but I had good friends,” he insisted.
The “Pies descalzos” singer stressed that right now she is “dedicated” to Milan and Sasha, even above her career.
“I take the task of mothering very seriously: I try to have two more decent people in this world, and I hope they will be my children,” she shared.
