‘El Gordo Peruci’, a comedian who was murdered on the night of Monday December 9, has revealed that he was living under a warning.
According to Azteca Noticias reports, Leovardo Aispuro Soto, the real name of the “influencer”, was attacked by a group of armed men in the streets of Culiacán, Sinaloa.
Hours before the attack that killed him, he shared in a video posted on his YouTube channel that same day that he had been the victim of a crime.
“El Gordo Peruci” reveals the warning that followed
During his speech, “El Gordo Peruci” said that a string of lights that he placed on the front of his house for next Christmas were stolen.
“It bothers me because, like I’m telling you, it’s an effort, I’ll have to go buy some more, but I’ll buy them cheap, to be honest, just to get these days going,” he said. .
He took the moment to explain why, despite having surveillance cameras installed, he couldn’t know who committed the theft.
“Here in Culiacán there was a rumor that you have to remove your cameras or unplug them to not upload videos,” he said.
“Although I’ve never uploaded anything. Since all the chaos started… here in Culiacan, since it was paralyzed, I have never uploaded a video,” he added.
Leovardo Aispuro said that “to avoid any trouble” he chose to turn off the surveillance recordings and that even his mother-in-law heard the warning.
“You see the blue stage where we sometimes record, he removed them because he says a person came, politely, to say, ‘Hey, so you don’t have any problems or someone comes asking you for the camera records, you better remove,'” he recalls.
“Then, the same day someone told them, they removed them so they wouldn’t have any problems. “I didn’t remove them, but I have them offline, so I can’t see what time it was, who it was, I can’t see anything,” he added.
According to N+, Culiacán has been mired in violence for three months due to feuds between factions of the Sinaloa cartel.
Did ‘El Gordo Peruci’ live in a dangerous area?
In his testimony, “El Gordo Peruci” assured that his house was located in an area that presented security complications.
“A lot of people go through this road… How can I tell them? “Golden mugs”, not to sound mean,” he said.
“Many pass through here, because down there there are enough, like two or three houses that are alone, in the black work, and that’s where they enter. Or if not, around the corner there is also the whole wilderness alone […] Yeah, a lot of crazy things happen at night,” he described.
Early reports, such as one by La Razón de México, said Leovardo Aispuro and his wife, Brenda Félix, were shot outside their home, but authorities have not confirmed this.
