Saul Vasconcelos returns to the cinema as the voice of Maui in the Brazilian version of Moana 2. With a long career as an actor, the artist says he has made good friends in the field, even in his latest work. In an interview with CARAS Brazilopens up about the importance of unity in the artistic world: “He faces many difficulties“, he declares.

In an interview with CARAS BrazilSaulo Vasconcelos hopes the film will create even fonder memories for his daughters, Manuela AND Amanda. “They loved the first one and they said, ‘My father is Maui.’ I’m very happy for her and the memories that developed with them, thanks to the film.”

Despite this, he says that the film has not only had a positive influence on the family sphere. The actor, who recently starred in the Brazilian revival of the Broadway musical Peter Panhe states that the film gave him the opportunity to grow as an artist.

Every experience is unique. It’s as if you acquire different DNA, it makes you more versatile and makes you understand more about something that isn’t you. Moana had a fundamental role in this sense, even if it is the same character, it is another context and this can only help me grow as an artist in the future.”

Vasconcelos also takes the opportunity to reinforce the importance of friendships, since one of the central points of the animation is the relationship between Maui and Moana (Any Gabrielly). He says that, currently, he has people in his life who share this relationship, especially after leaving his hometown of Brasilia and living in places like Mexico, Portugal and Sao Paulo.

I have made many friends along the way, through work“, explains the artist.”You cannot be alone, you will face many difficulties if you think this way. Some friendships even become family.”
