Ana Paula Barbosa was battling cancer, diagnosed in February 2023
Ana Paula Barbosa da Silva, wife of the singer Flavinho, of the group Pagod’art, died this Wednesday, 25th, at the age of 43. She was fighting cancer and had been hospitalized at the Aristides Maltez hospital, in Salvador, Bahia, since last Saturday 21st.

According to the artist’s consultant, via a social media publication, Ana Paula was hospitalized “after health complications.” In August 2023 the woman celebrated the end of the chemotherapy sessions and reported the progress made in the treatment of the disease, diagnosed in February of the same year, a few days before the Carnival.
“The impact of the news was devastating. First came the fear and uncertainty, but I didn’t run from the battle. With resignation, courage and, above all, with the support of my family and friends, I managed to get to the end of my sessions,” he wrote.
In February this year Ana Paula once again took to social media to talk about her fight against cancer. This time, she revealed that she underwent a procedure to place a colostomy bag, in December 2023.
Ana Paula and Flavinho Pagod’art have been married for 25 years. He leaves behind three children aged 24, 22 and 19.
The statement published on the profile of the Pagod’art group informs that the burial will take place with a restricted ceremony: “In this moment of pain, the family is grateful for the prayers and affection received, and chooses to say goodbye to us in private, in a atmosphere of intimacy, intimate ceremony.”
