The unexpected death of Dulce keeps giving something to talk about. Two weeks after the death of the singer Her daughter, Romina Mirkoli, accused that “there was not the necessary information” about her mother’s illness. nor further treatment after the removal of an incarcerated tumor in his kidney, which had metastasized to one of his lungs.
Romina explained to journalist Lolita de la Vega that although the fact that her mother did not rest and continued to work after the kidney operation played an important role, there was also no medical indication that Dulce needed treatment after operation.
“No (he was never told he had to have chemotherapy). I will tell you, without knowing anything, people we were talking to before (…) had told me that He should have been given treatment, either immunotherapy or chemotherapy or some monitoring and he wasn’t given it. I mentioned it to him and his close friends, his real friends, told him. One of them even went with her to one of the last appointments with the doctor who removed her kidney,” she said on the YouTube show, “Aqui entre nos,” on January 6.
“I’m not saying the doctor did his job badly. The doctor did the perfect operation, but I, from my point of view, was ignorant, because I found out while I was there in the hospital (…) I think maybe the necessary information was not there. There’s also the factor that my mother didn’t stop working,” he added.
According to Romina Mircoli, she gave her mother “a lot of reassurance” that her doctor asked her to continue living her normal life, which encouraged her mother to return to the stage almost immediately.
“One of the things that I don’t want to say we criticized negatively, but it was commented on with great concern, is that he left the surgery and went to work. She said that she felt very confident, that her doctor had told her that she should go about her normal life and (that she should) only come back for some studies,” she continued.
Was Dulce’s death due to medical negligence?
Although her daughter Dulce points out that there was not the “necessary information” about her mother’s health after her kidney operation for a malignant tumor, Romina Mircoli also does not believe it was medical negligence, since in some studies strange “signs” appeared in the left lung.
“I can’t say it was negligence because there was one (of the studies), I don’t know if it was a CT scan or a type of film where they saw some markings on the left lung, but it wasn’t.” He didn’t make it clear what it was… But my mother didn’t “She gave it the importance it should have,” she insisted.
Finally, the Dulce’s daughter explained to the reporter that the soap opera actress faced “a very ugly, very short and devastating battle” against metastatic cancer, since, in the same week, his chances of recovery disappeared.
“There are two things that played a role here. The first is that my mother’s battle with cancer was a very ugly one, very short and devastating. It was something he fought for until the last moment. In one week they told me my mother had an 80% chance of leaving, then 70% and then they reduced it to 10% in a week,” he recalls.
“They told me The type of cancer my mother had was a metastatic… She had one kidney removed, in fact, there is a video (…) it is from that time when her kidney was removed, where she comes out saying that she is fine because that is what we were told, that the cancer in the kidney was encapsulated, these are the words they told us and that when it came time to remove the kidney there was no longer a problem,” he said.
The singer Dulce died on December 25, 2024 at the age of 69. According to Romina Mirkoli, her death was the result of a metastatic cancer which started from the kidney and spread to the pleura of the left lung.
