Selton Mello publishes speech after Oscar nominations: ‘We made history’

This Thursday, the 23rd, the actor Selton Mellocelebrated the film’s three nominations I’m still here al Oscars 2025. He plays the former deputy Rubens Paiva in the film directed by Walter Salles.




The production competes in the categories of Best Foreign Film, Best Actress, with the indication of Fernanda Torresand of Best film. It is the first time that a Brazilian film has competed in the main category of the award. The event will take place on March 2, a Los Angeles.

Finally, the actor underlined that the film has already entered the history of national cinema. “Many layers. Our country needed this film. The whole world needed this film. Right now.
