Queen Elizabeth II had an appreciation for cars, in particular the Land Rover brand
Queen Elizabeth II has always had a passion for cars, in particular Land Rover models. Although he had drivers available, he loved to drive in his real properties.
In 2021, at the age of 95, he was photographed behind the wheel of a Range Rover L322 during the Royal Windsor Horse Show. His interest in cars, however, began in his youth when, at the age of 18, he enlisted in the auxiliary territorial service during the Second World War.
It is interesting to note that driver’s licenses in the United Kingdom are issued on behalf of the monarch, but Queen Elizabeth II did not need one to drive. In addition, their cars did not require signs.
When escorted by the police in official commitments, the Queen’s vehicles were also exempt from the speed limits, a measure adopted to guarantee their safety.
