Queen Elizabeth II will miss the traditional meeting in Balmoral due to health problems

The 96-year-old Queen Elizabeth II continues to spend her summer holidays at Balmoral Castle, Scotland, after allegedly spending the past few weeks at nearby Craigowan Lodge, a stone cottage. However, she is unlikely to be able to solemnly meet guests at the gates of the estate with crowds of photographers, soldiers of the Scottish regiment and military bagpipers – for several months Her Majesty, according to Buckingham Palace, has been experiencing difficulties in moving.

This year, Elizabeth will welcome noble aristocrats in private right on the castle grounds without the traditional pompous events. So she can save her strength and chat with a large number of guests. The Buckingham Palace press office said the format of the private reception was chosen “in accordance with the adaptation of Her Majesty’s schedule for her comfort” and again denied all rumors about her ailment.

The next big event on the royal calendar is the Highland Games on September 3rd. The Queen has never missed them during her entire reign, but if she does not appear there, then there will be no need to doubt Her Majesty’s poor health.

Recall that Elizabeth went on vacation on July 21. As a rule, she rests in Scotland until September-October, after which she returns to her royal duties with renewed vigor. This fall, she will have to accept the resignation of British Prime Minister Boris Johnson.

It should be noted that for the Queen, spring and summer became quite busy – she celebrated the 70th anniversary of her tenure on the throne, and, despite health problems, attended a number of ceremonial events. The royal family has been supportive of Elizabeth all along – for example, her son, Prince Charles, 73, replaced his mother at the opening ceremony of a new session of Parliament, as well as at the recent opening of the Commonwealth Games. And in early July, it became known at all that Her Majesty transferred part of her powers to Charles.
