Before going down the aisle, the actors met for two years. Almost three years later, Dylan’s sister, Carys, was born. Douglas also has a son Cameron from his first marriage, now he is 44 years old.
Once the couple almost broke up – on August 16, 2013, Michael Douglas announced his intention to file for divorce. The reason for this statement was that the actor “was no longer able to endure the global depression, which is pronounced due to Katherine’s illness” (in April 2011, she underwent treatment for bipolar affective disorder, and two years later – for bipolar disorder second type). However, already in November 2013 it became known that they restored their relationship. An interesting fact is that Michael and Katherine have the same birthday, but with a difference of 25 years.
