Anne Heche was reportedly addicted to cocaine in the accident that left her in a coma

Anne Heche allegedly was under the influence of cocaine when she suffered a serious car accident that left her in a coma. The information comes from the TMZ website, which learned from LAPD sources that cocaine and fentanyl were found in the actress’s blood in a sample collected at the hospital after the accident.

Despite this, fentanyl may have been administered in the hospital, as it is used as a pain reliever and, therefore, it will be necessary to investigate the medical record and whether the substance was already in the actress’s blood at the time of the accident.

LAPD got a warrant to perform the blood draw after evidence suggested Heche may have been under the influence of drugs or alcohol at the time of Friday’s incident.

According to the publication, the suspicion arose after witnesses reported that the actress made irregular and reckless maneuvers on the street. A video of her also shows her almost running on a pedestrian. Also, before her worst accident, she crashed into a car parked in the garage of an apartment complex.

Heche was rescued by the residents, but she reversed and accelerated to escape the scene, so she ended up driving the vehicle head-on into a house. The accident was so bad that she started the car, a blue Mini Cooper, and left her body with severe burns.

Police officers also received a photo of him shortly before the accident, which showed a bottle inside his car, reinforcing the suspicion that he was drinking alcohol while driving.

According to TMZ sources, Heche’s condition is “dire” and she is “fighting for her life” in the hospital. The actress suffered severe burns in the fight, she was intubated and is in a coma.
