A television director, whose name has not been revealed, was allegedly raped by actor Gustavo Novaes (from the soap operas “Amor de Mãe” and “Genesis”).
In a complaint published this Thursday (25/8) on Universa, she claims she is drunk and does not remember the violence, only discovering herself when she saw a video of the act, recorded by Novaes himself on his cellphone. She immediately uploaded the video to herself and deleted the original.
According to Universa, the images show Novaes standing, walking towards a room. Then comes the image of a woman lying on her stomach, inert. He penetrates her and she mumbles words, incomprehensible.
The victim said she was once in a relationship with the actor but they were no longer together and she has no recollection of what happened because she was completely drunk.
“It’s very difficult to understand. I can’t even tell [que foi estuprada]. The word is bad, it hurts. I had the video, but I didn’t believe what I saw. It wasn’t possible for someone to be able to do that, someone I had in my house, “she told the site.
The actor denies the allegations and claims that there was consent to both the recording and the sexual act.
Originally, the news reached the press as if the victim were a model. On August 7, the actor denied the accusation in an interview with “Câmera Record”.
“Once we were having sex, he had already commented on making a video, and we made a video, he ended up getting annoyed about it. Where did this rape talk come from, if we had sex together? This is a little absurd. Right? Not even the photo shows her unconscious, “Novaes said.
According to the woman, she met the actor when the two were working at the same station – to which the victim would have asked not to be identified. The two dated for a month and a half, she says. After a while, about to travel to Los Angeles where she would take a class, she threw a farewell party in a bar. When he arrived home drunk, he insisted, via messages, to find her.

My reaction at the moment was to send it to me via WhatsApp and delete it from your device. “
The discovery of the video led her to search for a police station to report him.
The director has made available an exchange of conversations in which she confirms that she has not authorized the recording. Gustavo replies: “Okay? Sorry for the registration”. He says he just filmed it so the two could see the images together and, at one point, he calls her “crazy”. “Stop bringing trouble to your life,” she says.
When he reported the incident to the police, the case was initially treated as an offense of unauthorized recording of sexual intimacy. But she soon realized that she had been the victim of rape of vulnerable people: when a person does not discern the act, she is unable to consent or resist sexual contact, according to the law.
She also reported that she was approached by a professional in charge of the station where she worked asking her to withdraw the complaint against Gustavo. She “she said she shouldn’t have had Gustavo arrested or let the network know the story.”
Days later, the director was summoned for the third time to the police station, after the actor had already released his statement and months after filing a complaint. “Nobody prepares you for rape, nobody tells you that you have to look for a lawyer to accompany you to the police station, to explain exactly what the crime is and the report you have to make,” he said. “It’s still embarrassing to admit it.”
The most recent step in the trial was a request from the Prosecutor, signed by the prosecutor Érika Prado Alves Schittini, for an investigation into the crime of rape of a vulnerable person and for examination of the video.
Gustavo Novaes’ defense rejects the accusations.
