Known for announcing and reversing ads within days, SBT has kept the tradition with “Casos de Família”. Ten days after the announcement of the end of the program, the channel decided to keep it on schedule.
The last unreleased program would have aired on the holiday of 7 September, but the direction of the channel has reconsidered us and decided to continue showing it, introducing some news, not yet announced.
The current presenter, Christina Rocha, will remain in place.
The announcement of the cancellation was made via an official note sent to the press on 23 August. At the time, SBT said it would suspend the recording of “Casos de Família” from that week and that there would be a chance that the program would return in 2023 with new stories. Instead, the station’s programming would show a new soap opera strip.
Airing since May 2004, the attraction was created at a time when the shacks had good television ratings. Each edition was based on different conflicts between members of the same family, neighbors and even in the workplace, and often included yelling, swearing and general quarreling between attendees. But it also showed the distribution of kisses on strangers by arguing couples.
In addition to the guests, the audience actively participated in the program with opinions and questions about the reported stories.
Despite the climate that guaranteed the public, the justification of the program for being conflict-based was to guide and even resolve the cases presented, with the participation of a psychologist.
However, the production has not escaped being questioned by the authenticity of the relationships. Frequently, the participants of “Casos de Família” were seen in other programs, such as “Programa do Ratinho” on SBT and “Você na TV” and “Teste de Fidelidade” on RedeTV !.
