The wife of Charles III can become a full-fledged Queen of Great Britain – and here’s why

In the UK, they are preparing for a big event – the coronation of Charles III and his wife Camilla. The first details of the operation codenamed “Golden Status” became known last week, and today insiders from among those close to the royal palace told about another important detail of this event. According to the Daily Mail informant, along with the mantle of peers, velvet chairs and other rituals of the solemn ceremony, the royal family plans to abolish the prefix “consort” in the title of the wife of Charles III Camilla.

For this to be legally possible, such a decision must be approved by the public. As insiders say, a natural transition will occur as the public and press begin to accept the simpler, abbreviated title. If this happens before the coronation, which is very much hoped in the palace, then the wife of Charles III can be officially proclaimed queen at the ceremony.

Recall that during the celebration of her platinum jubilee, Elizabeth II made an unexpected announcement about conferring the title of queen consort to her daughter-in-law Camilla after her son Charles takes the throne. The Queen’s order came into force three months later – after Elizabeth II died in September of this ode at the age of 96.

I am counting on the loving help of my dear wife, Camilla. In recognition of her faithful public service, since our marriage seventeen years ago, she becomes my queen consort,” said King Charles III after the death of her mother.
