Tim Burton talks about working with Johnny Depp again

Will we see Johnny Depp in a Tim Burton movie again?

Have passed 10 years since the last collaboration between Tim Burton and Johnny Depp, ‘Dark Shadows’but the relationship between director and actor has been one of the most faithful and prolific in recent Hollywood history.

Between the two of them they gave us several of Johnny Depp’s best films like ‘Edward Scissorhands‘ (1990), ‘Ed Wood‘ (1994), ‘Sleepy Hollow‘ (1999), ‘Charlie and the Chocolate Factory‘ (2005), ‘Corpse Bride‘ (2005), ‘Sweeney Todd‘ (2007), ‘Alice in Wonderland‘ (2010) and the aforementioned ‘Dark Shadows’ (2012), the eighth and so far last collaboration between the two.

However, the crossing of accusations and the subsequent trial between Johnny Depp and Amber Heard led to the cancellation of the actor in the industry. Mads Mikkelsen replaced Jonnhy Depp in ‘Fantastic Beasts 3’ due to the controversy and Depp has had a hard time working ever since.

Now, after the favorable resolution of the trial between the ex-couple, Depp is ready to play Louis XV in ‘Jeanne du Barry’ after three years inactive, and fans are wondering when his return to Hollywood will take place.

With this doubt in mind, Reuters has asked the director who has worked with Depp the most times, Tim Burton, about a possible meeting in the near future. Y Burton has approached the subject with caution but without closing the doors:

“If it was the right project, for sure… I think with anyone. I never work with anyone, not even with my friends, as if it was a party, I always like to try it with him or with anyone asking me; what is the role? What’s the thing? And so is it the right thing, is it the right character? I make decisions on that basis and not on any other basis.”

Depp’s reputation has undoubtedly faced some serious setbacks in recent years, and it currently seems unlikely that he can achieve the mainstream popularity he once did. After all, Depp has no plans to return to his two biggest roles: Jack Sparrow in “Pirates of the Caribbean” and Gellert Grindewald in “Fantastic Beasts.” But the base of the most loyal fans is still there and it is important enough for Hollywood to consider its return… The question is: When?
