In the film, Gal will be played by the actress Sophie Charlotte, 33 years. Rodrigo Lelis will play Caetano Veloso; Dan Ferreira, Gilberto Gil; Camila Márdila plays Dedé Gadelha; George Sauma, Wally Solomon; and Luis Lobianco will be the businessman Guilherme Araújo.
The film is directed by Dandara Ferreira, who is also in the cast as Maria Bethânia, and by Lô Politi, who is still writing the screenplay. Actor Fábio Assunção makes a special appearance.
The film portrays the Bahian singer in key moments and as one of the protagonists of Brazilian cultural history: the effervescence of the 1960s and her militancy as a muse of the counterculture of the 1970s.
