November 19 is National Tree Day in Luxembourg. This year, 50 beech trees were planted in Fischbach, one of the 12 municipalities of the Müllerthal region (UNESCO Müllerthal Global Geopark), with the participation of Hereditary Grand Duke Guillaume of Luxembourg, Hereditary Grand Duchess Stephanie and Prince Charles.

For the event, the whole family chose the appropriate looks: the duke wore a brown sheepskin coat and beige jeans, while the duchess, who is now expecting her second child, warmed up by wearing a down jacket with a hood, a sweater and jeans. The parents dressed their 2-year-old son Charles in a bright red jacket so that the heir would stand out from their background. The kid, by the way, took an active part in planting trees – he even stuck the seedling into the ground and crushed the soil with his feet.

The initiative launched 31 years ago by the Fondation Hellef fir d’Natur (natur & mwelt asbl) aims to raise public awareness of the protection of biodiversity, which is partly based on reforestation.

Recall that the long-awaited first-born of Guillaume and Stephanie was born on May 10, 2020, when the couple were 38 and 36 years old, respectively. The boy was given the name Charles Jean Philippe Joseph Marie Guillaume. Prince Charles was baptized on 19 September at the Abbey of Saint Maurice in Clairvaux, built in 1115. His godparents were Prince Louis, brother of Prince Guillaume, and Countess Gaelle de Lannoy, sister of Princess Stephanie.

The prince and princess have known each other since 2004, started dating in 2010, and got married two years later. In 2016, in an interview with the French magazine Point de Vue, Stefania said that she had no plans to have children in the near future. But, as we can see, after a while she changed her mind, and now her son is second in line to the royal throne, ahead of his father’s four brothers and sisters, including Prince Louis, who in early April announced his intention to marry in the second once.
