Actress and actress Jennifer Lopez will resume her musical activity. This Friday (12/25), she announced the release of her first album in eight years, “This Is Me… Now”.
The title is a reference to the most successful album of his career: “This Is Me… Then”, released 20 years ago with the hits “Jenny from the Block” and “All I Have”.
He shared details of the album, such as the title of the 13 songs, in a post on his social networks. Interestingly, as part of the launch campaign, JLo archived all posts that were on her Instagram timeline. With that, only the post on the new record is now available.
There is a significant detail in the choice of reference to the 2002 album. At the time, the songs alluded to the singer’s relationship with her boyfriend. It was none other than Ben Affleck, whom she married this year after their original relationship ended twenty years ago. The actor is mentioned by name in the title of the ballad “Dear Ben” and still participates in the famous video for “Jenny from the Block”.
20 years later, Dear Ben and JLo get married and he is featured again prominently on the album, titled “Dear Ben pt. II”.
“This is me… Now” will be released in 2023. JLo’s latest album was “AKA”, from 2014.
