While the world’s attention is focused on the documentary about Meghan and Harry, which will be released tomorrow, the Prince and Princess of Wales continue to carry out their royal duties. So, last night they, along with King Charles III and Queen Consort Camilla, hosted an annual diplomatic reception for 2,000 guests at Buckingham Palace.

At the event, Kate appeared in a lace dress embroidered with beads and sequins by designer Jenny Packham and, as usual, complemented the image with meaningful details. Princess Catherine wore a blue belt of the Royal Victorian Order, diamond earrings that belonged to Elizabeth II, and a brooch with a portrait of the young queen. Such brooches symbolize the owner’s belonging to the Order of the Royal Family. The late Elizabeth honored a total of 15 women at court with such accessories, including Camilla, Countess Sophie of Wessex, Princess Anne Royal, Duchess of Kent and Duchess of Gloucester.

The main detail of Kate’s outfit was the luxurious diamond tiara “Lotus Flower”, which was once worn by the sister of the late queen, Princess Margaret. Note that Katherine has already worn it to a diplomatic reception at the palace in 2013 and during an official visit to China for her first state banquet in 2015.

The reception took place upon the return of the Prince and Princess of Wales from the United States. This was their first visit to America in the last 8 years.
