The actor participated in the series “Sobre Pressão” and will play a villain in the soap opera “Vai na Fé”
Actor Emilio Dantas, who is mistaking “Under Pressure” for villain Theo in the new soap opera “Vai na Fé,” blasted Regina Duarte, Cássia Kis and other fellow Jair Bolsonaro supporters.
“I think it’s wrong to call them artists. Art requires empathy. It’s absolutely impossible for an artist to agree with anything that comes from this kind of ideology. This has nothing to do with art,” she shot. Folha de S. Paolo Newspaper.
In the interview he said that he has never been very attached to politics, but that he changed during the Bolsonaro government. “What the government has done in this pandemic has made me want to fight something that I thought was very wrong. I started paying more attention. Today I see myself as a completely leftist person,” he expressed. “The Bolsonaro Years [no governo] they were dark. There are no words to explain what happened,” she added.
Seeing colleagues attacking democracy in defense of the old government, he added that he sees this extremism as a result of frustrations.
“It’s very clear to me that these people have problems of their own. They put this passion into it [por Bolsonaro] and this vehemence in politics because they are driven by frustrations, by very intimate issues,” he pointed out.
And he also questioned why Regina Duarte defends Bolsonaro. “In Regina’s case, I think it’s a matter of pride, of not wanting to admit that she was wrong. His move to the Secretariat of Culture was a setback in her career. Her point of view is completely wrong, and she continues to defend it. What is left for Regina to see reality? Bolsonaro tear off someone’s arm?”, he was indignant.
Dantas will be visible from Monday (January 16) in “Vai na Fé”, a new soap opera at 19:00 on Globo. His character, Theo, is a social climber and businessman in the import and export business, who brings in legal goods for less tax, without anyone knowing.
