A week ago, the Chanel cruise collection was shown in Monaco, and now, on the other side of the ocean, the Louis Vuitton brand showed its creations in the same format. The Maison’s creative director, Nicolas Ghesquière, seems to have been inspired by Denis Villeneuve’s Dune or Star Wars, and has created many futuristic looks in “metal” fabric with exaggeratedly wide shoulders.
This time there was no first echelon of models on the catwalk – Hadid, Jenner and so on – but many recognized Sasha Pivovarova and Lauren Wasser. The latter appeared on the cover of the latest issue of the French Elle and told her story. A few years ago, the girl lost both legs due to toxic shock syndrome – one of the hygienic tampons she used was contaminated with staphylococcus aureus. Now she continues to work as a model, but with prostheses.

The fashion show, hosted by the Salk Institute for Biological Research in San Diego, California, brought together dozens of celebrity guests and brand ambassadors: Miranda Kerr, Lea Seydoux, Chloë Grace Moretz, Emma Roberts, Gemma Chan, Steve Jobs’ daughter Eve, Anna Wintour and others. Newlyweds Billie Lourd, actress and daughter Carrie Fisher, and Austin Rydell were spotted in the front row.
