British miniskirt designer Mary Quant has died at the age of 93. The famous fashion designer died at her home in Surrey, UK. Details of Quant’s death have not been released. Reuters reporters shared information about the incident.

Mary Quant was born February 11, 1930 in London. In 1955, the famous designer with her lover Alexander Plunkett-Green, who later became her husband, and friend Archie McNair opened the Bazaar boutique in Chelsea. There she presented things of her authorship.

Quant is considered the creator of the miniskirt. In the 1960s, the silhouette was popularized by the world famous model Twiggy.
