Seville hosted a cruise show of Dior, which, according to the creative director of the Maison, Maria Grazia Chiuri, was a combination of heritage and ingenuity. The show took place on the main square of the city, and the models demonstrated outfits inspired by Spanish fairs, flamenco and up to the equestrian tradition. The muse of this collection was La Capitana – Carmen Amaya, a revolutionary and passionate flamenco dancer who appeared on stage in trousers and jackets of a torero.
The collection was developed not only by the brand’s team led by Maria Grazia, but also by local artisans, who also collaborate with the Catholic Church. The main motifs were: ceremonial embroidery, flat hats, Andalusian riding leather, roses and lace. And a traditional Spanish accessory was attached to the belt of some models that passed through the square – a fan made of the finest lace. They were commissioned by Dior in the historic Abanicos Carbonell workshop in Valencia.
The guests of the Dior cruise show in Seville were: 1990s supermodel Elle MacPherson with an 18-year-old son named Sai, Laetitia Casta, daughter of Antonio Banderas and Melanie Griffith Stella del Carmen Banderas Griffith, French actresses Jeanne Damas and Mathilde Warnier, influencer Chiara Ferragni, Spanish actress and star of the series “Paper House” and “Elite” Maria Pedraza.
