Pack neatly and smartly
When preparing the individual pieces that you want to pack with you on the trip, you need to pay close attention not only to the quantity, but also, for example, to the materials. There’s nothing worse than opening your suitcase on vacation and finding a bunch of crumpled clothes instead of folded trendy pieces. Therefore, choose light and wrinkle-free materials, and if you insist on a piece that you will probably take out of your luggage crumpled on the way, we have a tip for you. Put such a piece of clothing on a hanger and take it with you to the bathroom when you take a shower. The steam in the room should fix everything. It is useful to pack bras, swimwear and other delicate things in smaller separate bags so that clips or other hooks do not get tangled or create unnecessary holes. Any liquids should also be kept in separate bags to prevent leakage and damage to clothing.
Plan your outfit
Instead of just mindlessly throwing clothes in your suitcase and hoping they fit, make a clear plan before you go on which pieces you want to take on vacation. Make a couple of combinable outfits from them. It is important to take into account what your final destination is and what your plan is for spending your free time. “If you’re going to spend your vacation actively in the mountains, for example, it’s unnecessary to pack fashionable dresses with balloon sleeves, and vice versa, if you’re going to a resort or a city, you don’t need to bring functional clothes with you. The key to building a holiday wardrobe is simple. Choose multi-purpose pieces that can be worn both during the day and at night,” adds Padová. In this case, the star pieces are, for example, trousers with wide legs or loose skirts, which are ideal for walking around the sights, but also for an evening drink. Ribbed tanks and tops, you can easily pair them with sneakers during the day and throw on a light shirt or sweater over them for the evening.

Too many shoes
Shoes take up a lot of space in your luggage. To pack smart, follow the rule – one pair of shoes for 3 outfits. For the journey to your destination, wear sneakers that are more voluminous. This will ensure more space for evening or other shoes. Ideally, avoid dizzyingly high heels in favor of another pair of slippers, sandals or ballet flats. These can be perfectly combined into an outfit with long trousers.

A final tip
A great choice if you are going on vacation to the sea or anywhere near the water are beach covers, kimonos and carfans. “Such a cover has several advantages. It is stackable, so you can afford to pack more than one piece. Throw it in your beach bag in the morning and it will serve you well during the day if you jump from sunbathing to lunch in a restaurant or a snack in the hotel lobby. Last but not least, you can base an entire outfit on it,” says fashion expert Mária Padová. It is no longer the case that these beach covers are just a piece of unsightly clothing made of artificial materials.
