While some stars are dyed blonde and dressed in pink outfits, following the unexpected Barbie trend, others are also turning to the dark side at the same time. So, Lily James, known for her roles in the musical “Mamma Mia! 2”, the fairy tale “Cinderella” and recently starred in the biopic “Pam and Tommy”, became the face of Versace. It was a matter of time – all of Lily’s last red carpet appearances were in the outfits of this particular fashion house.
In the first advertising campaign for the brand, which is centered on bags from the new autumn-winter collection, the actress appeared in a radically different image: the charming blonde turned into a burning brunette with a ragged haircut and straight bangs, and her eyebrows turned out to be discolored. Whether it’s a wig or a real transformation, only time will tell. The shots were shot by renowned fashion photographers Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott.
In a press release released along with the shooting, there are a couple of statements by Donatella Versace, who was pleased with the collaboration with the actress:
When Lily stood in front of the camera, she was transformed. Wearing things from the new collection, she changed both externally and internally, her presentation changed and she gained new energy and strength. This is how you should feel when you put on Versace.

In one of the photos, Lily holds a black Greca Goddess handbag over her head with signature gold elements and a chain.
It was so special and exciting to be adopted into the Donatella Versace family,” James told WWD. “I never felt stronger until I started working with Versace, and it was amazing how in these clothes I instantly felt like a goddess of Versace. It’s such an honor.
The actress also thanked the designer “for everything” and called her her “inspiration”.
