VANS AND PRETTY GUARDIAN SAILOR MOON PAYS A TRIBUTE TO THE POPULAR ANIME

This season, Vans and Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon have prepared a special four-piece collection inspired by popular stories of love and friendship from the legendary Japanese anime. The action-packed collection of Lifestyle, Skate and Customs footwear captures the adventures of Sailor Moon and Sailor Guardians across iconic Vans styles. The Classics footwear collection includes a variety of styles from women’s, men’s and children’s collections. The Sk8-Hi Stacked combines textile with satin parts and smooth leather parts decorated with Sailor Moon’s famous brooch and bow. The designs feature printed side panels, translucent heels and toes adorned with official Sailor Guardian planet symbols. Tuxedo Mask and Sailor Guardians appear on Authentic as a tribute to notable characters from the series. The Old Skool Patchwork boasts an artistic patch-like print that references this awesome anime series. The iconic Vans Checkerboard print is showcased across styles in signature colorways and interwoven with each Sailor Guardian. The planet symbols from Sailor Guardian reappear in a night-inspired star design on another Old Skool rendition. The range of footwear for adults is completed by the La Costa and ComfyCush Slip-on, full of Sailor Guardians and Dark Kingdom motifs.

Not just shoes

In the clothing line, the BFF Women’s Crew Neck Fleece Hoodie takes inspiration from Sailor Moon’s heroic sailor suit. Men’s short sleeve graphic print t-shirt featuring an impressive image of Sailor Moon with her famous wand. The Sailor Moon character is surrounded by a Vans Checkerboard and the navy t-shirt features an ‘Off The Wall’ print. Official Vans and Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon logos complete the look. The stars match the Curved Bill Jockey, which features Sailor Moon in a star appliqué on the front and detailed embroidery. The collection also includes two backpacks. Lizzie Armanto’s Vans x Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon collection brings a similar aesthetic in black and white with a BFF hoodie featuring anime artwork on the front and checkerboard detailing on the sleeves, as well as a double-sided Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon logo patch hat on a black background with checkerboard detailing and a Vans logo patch on the other side.

Next up is the Vans x Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon from Lizzie Armanto’s skateboard line. Evoking a DIY approach with an old-school feel, the collection of footwear, apparel and accessories is dominated by Vans’ new performance silhouette, The Lizzie – a Vans skateboard shoe designed by a woman for the first time in 20 years. The footwear range features three Vans Classics styles adorned with black and white graphic collages of Sailor Moon and Sailor Guardians. The Skate Old Skool and Skate Slip-On combine legendary Vans heritage style with a punk-inspired theme.

Refined hidden patterns

The third exciting new item is the brand new Vans Old Skool Overt CC shoe, the latest model in the ComfyCush family. The Vans x Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon Old Skool Overt CC features a stylishly shaped ComfyCush midsole with a portrait outline of Sailor Moon and her sidekick Luna on the side panels. Vans’ iconic checkerboard appears in monochrome black and gray tones spread across the heel, complete with pink embroidery across the upper and midsole, and the iconic Sailor Moon brooch across the laces completes the look. The Old Skool Overt CC has a roomier, sportier style and features a rubber sole for grip and traction, and is already comfortable with extra foam along the collar, tongue and side panels. A symbol of self-discovery and innovation, the Old Skool Overt CC’s 360-degree molded midsole features a deformation zone with a compression channel and a molded removable insole for added comfort.

My own designer

Fans will also be able to exclusively design their own Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon Vans Classics via the Vans Customs platform. Three new prints featuring fan-favorite characters will be available at vans.com/customs: Sailor Moon and the four Sailor Guardians, Luna, Artemis and more. The Vans x Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon collaboration will be available from July 22, 2022.
